Britney Spears is back in court. Or, rather, her lawyer is. This time the Pop Tart’s attorney is trying to explain why the singer has failed to return calls from the drug-testing lab in a timely fashion.
Britney had previously been ordered to undergo random drug testing of which she’s notified by a call from the testing lab. At one point last month, the singer blamed her failure to respond to the lab’s calls on bad cell phone signals. The family court commissioner responded by restricting Britney’s visitation with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, until she’d taken and passed a drug test.
Now Britney’s representatives argue that the previous order was unconstitutional since it requires BritBrit to return the lab’s calls within an hour. Sometimes that’s not possible, the attorney claims, because Britney’s sleeping. (God forbid she actually have one of her numerous assistants answer the phone for her while she snoozes, y’all.)
Meanwhile, the judge pointed out that problem has nothing to do with how long it takes her to return the facility’s calls. The problem is that they can’t actually reach her. Britney’s claimed to have lost her cell phone at one point, then changed cell phone numbers. To prevent this from happening again, the judge wants Britney to get a cell phone for lab-only use.
Britney and K-Feds attorneys are due back in court any moment to learn whether the judge intends to restrict Britney’s visitation with her sons even further.
