Restraining Order: Britney Was Drugged!

Sam Lufti and Britney Spears

The restraining order filed by Britney Spears’ mother, Lynne, claims that the pop star was drugged by her manager, Sam Lufti. The documents (available via pdf through TMZ) claim that Lufti ground up Britney’s pills, which include a pill for the treatment of bipolar disorder, then encouraged her to take shots of tequila.

“He told us that he puts them in her food and that was the reason she had been quiet for the last three days,” Lynne continues. “She had been sleeping. He told us that the doctor who is treating her now is trying to get her into a sleep-induced coma so that they could give her drugs to heal her brain.”

Last Friday, a judge issued a restraining order preventing Lufti from coming within 250 yards of Britney. But Lufti says he’s not worried. “It won’t last,” he told Usmagazine.com. As for Britney’s parents — who currently have custodianship of the star’s affairs, including her $40 million estate — Lufti claims “They’re never gonna be able to rule her forever.”

WOW. At first, I was tired of hearing about Britney and had little to no sympathy for her. But now, I dunno… I’m starting to break. I mean geez, when EVERYONE around you is using you I can see how that drives one a little mad. I haven’t forgotten that she still needs to grow up and take some responsibility for her actions, but damn.

Get it together Britney, I mean really.

That’s how I was feeling about her, too, Jillian. Then I reached a turning point as well. I mean, she IS a kid and a hick, at that. Her parents are clearly messed up people, and the fact that her 16 y/o sis got knocked up shows that they weren’t necessarily raised with high standards for themselves.

Not to mention that, I imagine, when you’re young, attractive and worth $40 million it’s hard knowing whom to trust. She’s obviously made some very bad decisions in her life, but most of us have the luxury of making ours in privacy. Hers are tabloid fodder, and maybe she just never developed a thick enough skin to separate her personal identity from her public persona. That would make just about anyone have a breakdown, I think.
