Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael is en route to Utah where he plans to spend five days visiting his daughter at her drug rehabilitation clinic, according to E! Online.
While there, Michael Lohan says, he’s going to talk with Lindsay about using a drug that will help curb her craving for alcohol. The medication, known as Vivitrol, is injected monthly. It works on a time-release method, unlike the anti-alcohol pills that Lindsay’s tried in the past.
“She tried something else, but it failed her,” said Michael, himself a recovering addict who spent two years in prison on a variety of charges before getting out in March. “But some are just less effective on the body’s chemistry. They all work similarly, but this one has a slightly different molecular structure. It’s an improved version. And the fact that it’s injected, that is a huge advantage, too.”
Better yet, from Lindsay’s standpoint: if rehab fails she’s got a perfectly legitimate excuse should nasty little needle tracks start appearing on her arm.
